Upper Nature Area Consultation
We are aware of a petition regarding the use of an area of Waterlow Park for natural education.
There is an on-going consultation being hosted by the Friends of Waterlow Park seeking views about a proposal to create an area for nature education for use by individuals, families and small groups. The area previously used, part of the Upper Pond Nature Area, is currently closed and subject to habitat restoration and enhancement work. The new proposal aims to create a more appropriate area for such use, and fill the gap left in provision as a result of the closure.
This area is not intended for sole use by any organisation, as set out in the consultation itself. The area will be enclosed to restrict access by dogs, which is considered appropriate for an area intended for children and nature.
We request comments are made through the consultation so they can be considered.
